This black marble inlay decorative jewelery box is made by our artisans from Agra,India and is made of black marble has inlay of semi-precious stones inlay work similiar to the Taj Mahal inlay work. Malachite is the main stones used for the work.The workmanship is of high quality and intricate workmanship.
Marble inlay art also known as Pachikari or Parchinkari is used to produce these kind of handicraft items.This work reached its pinnacle under the patronage of Shah Jahan in one of the 7 wonders of the world TAJ MAHAL in AGRA,INDIA and is also found in other Mughal monuments in Agra and other parts of the Mughal Empire.Taj Mahal inlay inspires the modern day craftsmen to produce beautiful handicraft items using the same material that is used in it, this box being one of those.We use our own designs in making these items though the technique is the same as used in Taj Mahal.
